2. Purpose of the site

EstancosAbiertos.com is a free, informational directory of Spain’s licensed tobacco shops (estancos). For each shop it shows the location and, where known, the opening hours, phone number and services. Its purpose is to help you find which shop is open near you right now.

This site doesn’t sell any product, doesn’t act as an intermediary in its sale, and isn’t affiliated with any shop, manufacturer or distributor.

3. Tobacco-related information

The content of this site complies with Spanish Law 28/2005 on health measures against smoking. That law bans advertising, promotion and sponsorship of tobacco products in all media, including information society services, as well as commercial communications for e-cigarettes and other devices capable of releasing nicotine. Accordingly:

• Information is limited to objective shop data: where it is, when it opens and what services it offers.
• We don’t publish prices, offers, product reviews or messages that encourage consumption.
• We don’t accept ads, sponsorship or paid content promoting tobacco products, e-cigarettes or related products.
• The site is intended for adults. Selling tobacco and related products to anyone under 18 is prohibited.

If you see content that doesn’t meet these criteria, write to estancosabiertos.com and we’ll review it.

4. Terms of use

Access to the site is free and requires no sign-up. By using it, you agree to do so lawfully and in line with this notice. In particular, you may not:

• Extract or reuse all or a substantial part of the directory’s content, or insubstantial parts repeatedly and systematically, using bots, scraping or other automated means, without prior written permission. The directory is a database protected by Articles 133 et seq. of the Spanish Intellectual Property Law (Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996).
• Circumvent the site’s technical limits, overload it or introduce malicious code.
• Use the content for unlawful purposes, particularly in breach of tobacco advertising rules.

5. Accuracy of information

The data comes from official public registers and lists, open data from transport authorities, and public business information available online. We review and update it regularly, but can’t guarantee it is accurate, complete or current at all times: a shop may change its hours, close for holidays, or stop offering a service.

Each shop’s status is shown in one of three ways. “Open” and “Closed” are calculated from the hours we have. “Hours not available” means we don’t have its hours, not that it is closed. If you need to be sure, we recommend calling the shop before going.

Listing descriptions are written with AI assistance from the shop’s data and may contain inaccuracies.

The site owner is not liable for damage arising from errors or omissions in the information or from service interruptions, except where the law does not allow such liability to be excluded.

6. If you own a shop

You can ask us to correct or update your listing, or to remove it where appropriate, using the “Is this your shop? Claim it” form on the listing or by writing to estancosabiertos.com. Details on how this data is processed are in the privacy policy.

7. Links to other sites

The site links to third-party services, such as Google Maps directions or some shops’ websites. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content. Under Article 17 LSSI-CE, if we become aware that a link leads to unlawful content, we will remove it promptly.

8. Intellectual and industrial property

The design, code, text, logo, and the structure and selection of the directory’s content belong to the site owner or are used under licence. Reproducing, distributing, publicly communicating or transforming them without permission is prohibited, except for personal, private use.

Third-party trademarks and trade names that may appear belong to their owners. They are mentioned for descriptive purposes only and imply no relationship or endorsement.

Some data comes from open data sources, reused under their licences:

• Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid: Powered by CRTM. Transport ticket top-up points and coordinates.
